We all heard about the famous Horseshoe Curve located in Altoona, Pennsylvania and if you didn’t let me pass on some information about it, before we take a look at the train schedule.
Horseshoe Curve is a three-track railroad, completed in 1854 by the Pennsylvania Railroad, shaped as a… you’re right horseshoe. According to Wikipedia.org, the curve itself is about 2,375 feet (700 m) long and 1,300 feet (400 m) in diameter.
I have started this page with the idea of
listing the Horseshoe Curve Train Schedule
for both 2019 and 2020, unfortunately the information available both online and offline is quite… unavailable.
So here is what I have decided to do, we will together contribute to its growth by inputting as much information about the train schedule at Horseshoe Curve as possible.
How can you contribute to growing the information about the train schedule here? Simply, post your knowledge in the comment section and I will upload the information in the post.
Horseshoe Curve Train Schedule
Train schedule totals about 50 freight trains throughout the Horseshoe Curve. Most of the trains don’t follow a schedule necessarily, but we can guess the arrival time using a schedule.
The heaviest traffic starts after 2PM, but even until then, it is common to see over 20 freight trains passing by.
The AmTrak Pennsylvanian between Pittsburgh and New York City passes the curve daily.
